Jets sign defenceman Kale Clague to two-way contract
Kale Clague is heading back to Manitoba.
The Winnipeg Jets signed the 27-year-old Clague to a two-way contract on Tuesday, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The Winnipeg Free Press' Ken Wiebe reported that Clague's contract will pay him $775,000 in the NHL and $475,000 in the AHL.
Clague, who spent his junior hockey days with the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings, spent the entirety of the 2024-25 season with the AHL Rochester Americans. He played in 69 games, collecting 10 goals and 29 assists. The left-shot defenceman added five goals and six assists in eight playoff games.
The Regina, Sask., native had previously spent time in the NHL with Los Angeles, Montreal, and most recently Buffalo. He last saw game time with the Sabres in 2023-24, skating in three games and recording one assist.
Clague has 94 games of experience at hockey's highest level under his belt, and has scored two goals and 21 points.
